Job Description
The SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) is an enabling platform for global health activities across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC). The institute aims to address current and emerging health challenges across ASEAN member states and in other Asian countries. Working in collaboration with partners, the institute seeks to tackle prevalent health challenges, strengthen health systems and better insulate countries from pandemics and disease threats.
Since its inception in 2018, our team has grown to 35+ full-time employees, representing 15+ nationalities.
We are recruiting an Assistant Manager, Content and Campaigns to help shape and execute the marketing and communications strategy for both SDGHI and its affiliated Centre for Outbreak Preparedness (COP).
The selected candidate’s focus will be on building visibility and credibility of global health matters and of our institutes (SDGHI and COP). Ultimately, it is about attracting partners and funders, Asian clinicians, scientists and global health practitioners to participate in our global health projects. Through marketing our training and courses, it is also about motivating clinicians, medical students and other interested parties to further their education in global health.
The incumbent will report to the SDGHI Deputy Director, Strategic Partnerships. They will collaborate closely with many members of our teams and with other communication specialists from SingHealth as well as from Duke-NUS Medical School.
Key responsibilities
- Support strategic plans and contribute research and ideas for campaigns and content to support our institute’s events, education programmes and training courses.
- Lead in the planning and development of ‘always-on’ content that builds awareness of and interest around health equity (and its importance) for owned channels (including web, social media, newsletters) and earned channels (media and other platforms).
- Support media engagement and publicity efforts, including assessing, analysing, tracking and reporting of marketing and communications efforts.
- Work closely with faculty to identify appropriate angles, stories and content opportunities. This might include but not limited to updates on programme activities in priority locations.
- Manage the pipeline of content for the SDGHI website and quarterly newsletter.
- Manage content and design of SDGHI digital and print assets, such as brochures, posters and other publicity materials as required.
- Co-ordinate key SDGHI events such as townhalls, seminars, lectures, or related events on global health topics – which can include planning, attending, pitching.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, communications, social sciences or other related disciplines.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a communications or marketing role, including developing content and designing brochures, flyers and EDMs.
- Possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
- Have good working knowledge of Content Management Systems.
- Familiarity and experience with content analytics.
- Possess excellent written and oral presentation skills in English with an eye for details.
- Resourceful, creative and excellent at planning, organising and managing time.
- Highly motivated and able to work well both in a team as well as independently in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Demonstrated ability to interact and work with stakeholders and team members across various functions and levels in the organisation.
- Experience or interest in health equity or in acting in the non-profit sector.
- Prior work experience in marketing or communications of either social causes or education will be an asset.
- Proficient in both Mandarin and HTML would be advantageous.
