Job Description
The casual staff hired for this position will help to complete data entry for building a nutritional facts database for beverages for the second aim of the NutriGrade Study. In addition to this, they will also work on validating the nutritional information entered manually or extracted through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software.
Job responsibilities include:
• Data entry for beverage products constituting the database for Aim 2 of the NutriGrade study.
• Data validation for beverage data extracted using OCR technology.
• Data sourcing for product nutritional information in cases where extracted or entered data quality is low.
• Other ad-doc duties as assigned by Supervisor
Qualifications
• Proficient in working with data and databases. Must be detail-oriented.
• Experience with spreadsheets (particularly with Microsoft Excel) is necessary. This will be required for both the data entry and the data validation tasks this staff will be responsible for.
• Knowledge of nutrition databases and resourcefulness in terms of being able to validate or source product nutritional information online would be a plus.
