Job Description
Duke-NUS Medical School invites applications for the position of Education Associate, Immersive Learning in the Department of Technology Enhanced Learning and Innovation, Office of Education. This position is part of the new Educational Excellence Strategy of the Office of Education, and of the wider strategic vision for Duke-NUS Medical School to be an international centre of excellence.
The successful candidate will contribute to the development of an immersive learning portfolio using state-of-the-art virtual, augmented and mixed reality technologies and approaches to support and enhance the MD Programme curriculum. The roles and responsibilities will include but not limited to: -
- Participate in the general teaching, service and administrative responsibilities of the Office of Education as determined by the reporting officer.
- Participate in the development and delivery of the educational strategy for the Office of Education, with emphasis on promoting and supporting the use of immersive learning.
- Consult with faculty and staff, including trainees and students, regarding the use of immersive learning technologies and approaches.
- Collaborate with clinical faculty and investigators to design, develop, implement and evaluate immersive learning applications across the MD programme curriculum.
- Conduct workshops, courses and other programmes of development to build immersive learning capacity and capabilities across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC).
- Liaise with groups and individuals in the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC working on immersive learning.
- Apply for intramural and extramural funding for studies and programmes in the immersive learning domain.
- Publish and present immersive learning papers at peer-reviewed forums.
- Develop strong working relationships with the Digital Learning Centre staff.
- Establish links and collaborations with immersive learning groups and centres across Singapore and beyond.
- Collaborate with and support scholarship activities by the faculty in the Office of Education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by reporting officer.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Computing, Engineering, Information Technology or other related/relevant fields.
- Minimum 3years of experience in the use of immersive technologies, including but not limited to Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and/or Mixed Reality.
- Prior experience in the design, development and implementation of immersive learning applications, as well as coding and development environment (e.g. C, C++, C#, Unity 3D).
- Able to explain and demonstrate in a clear and concise manner the affordances of immersive learning and related immersive technologies.
- Possess exceptional time management and organisational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet project deadlines.
- Accessible, calm, flexible and mature individual with superlative interpersonal skills to work independently as well as in a team environment, and establish credibility with staff at all levels and of different disciplines and backgrounds.
- Committed to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in sharing of information.
- Possess good written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Able to mentor faculty and Digital Learning Centre staff in immersive learning and related immersive technologies.
