Job Description

The Education Associate plays a key instructional and operational role in the Clinical Performance Centre (CPC), with a primary focus on procedural skills education for MD students. This includes teaching and supporting student practice sessions, preparing materials and task trainers, and working closely with the Procedural Skills Leads and Simulation Technologist. The role may also contribute to simulation-based education, curriculum activities, and assessments under the guidance of the Associate Dean and curriculum team. The key roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following: -
1. Procedural Skills Teaching and CPC Operations
- Serve as core teaching faculty for procedural skills, providing hands-on instruction and guidance to medical students during workshops and practice sessions.
- Collaborate with Procedural Skills Leads in planning, delivering, and refining procedural skills sessions.
- Supervise and support self-directed student practice in the CPC, ensuring proper use of task trainers and safe learning practices.
- Assist in setting up, running, and breaking down procedural skills sessions and maintaining supplies and equipment.
- Work with the Simulation Technologist to ensure CPC equipment is functional, well-maintained, and ready for teaching use.
- Participate in the smooth day-to-day operations of the CPC, including logistics, inventory, and session support.
2. Simulation and Curriculum Support (as required)
- Support simulation-based teaching activities in the CPC, including preparation, logistics, and in-session support.
- Contribute to curriculum development and assessment activities at the direction of the CPC Director or Associate Dean.
- Participate in ongoing review and improvement of procedural skills training materials.
3. General Expectations
- Support other CPC or curriculum-related initiatives as assigned, including student assessments.
- Participate in School-level activities and serve on relevant committees as needed.
- Perform duties that may occasionally require evening or weekend work (with time off in lieu).
- Work collaboratively and respectfully as part of the CPC and MD Programme team.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or other healthcare-related disciplines, or Medical Degree or Master’s Degree in Medical/Health Professions Education, Simulation or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Prior experience with clinical or simulation-based education will be advantageous.
- Familiar with procedural skills commonly taught in undergraduate medical education.
- Able to manage logistics, equipment, and support student learning in practical settings.
- Possess strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic educational environment.
