Job Description
As a member of the Student Affairs team, the Executive will contribute to the following key areas:
• Student Support: Provide direct support to students, particularly concerning financial aid, residential matters, academic progress and psychosocial well-being. This involves understanding and addressing the diverse needs of students to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Resilience and Wellness Programmes: Contribute toward planning and implementation of these efforts, including logistics administration and safety management. This includes collaborating with the Student Affairs team on wellness initiatives and partnering with the Student Council and the student body on community service projects and Special Interest Group activities.
• Personal and Professional Development: Provide administrative support for mentoring programmes, such as the school’s leadership programme, advisory college system and career advising activities. This also includes coordinating individual development plans for students, facilitating students’ personal and professional growth beyond the classroom.
The above responsibilities are supported by two critical functions that the candidate will focus on:
• Student Interest Groups (SIGs): Lead the administration and growth of all Academic and Non-Academic Student Interest Groups (SIGs), including liaising with student leaders, facilitating events, and ensuring compliance with institutional policies.
• Careers in Medicine: Coordinate the Duke-NUS Individualized Development Plan (IDP), including annual roll-out, student engagement tracking, and feedback analysis. Manage processes for Letters of Reference (LOR), ensuring timely submissions, accurate documentation and clear communications with faculty and students.
Job Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Entry-level candidates or Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant experience may also be considered.
• Demonstrate strong coordination and administrative skills, with experience managing student-led initiatives, tracking project timelines, ensuring compliance with institutional policies, and proficiency in proposal writing, budgeting, and event execution.
• Familiar with career development frameworks, with the ability to support the administration of Individualized Development Plans (IDPs), career workshops and the Letters of Reference (LOR) process. Candidates should be detail-oriented and able to engage students in reflective conversations on professional development.
• Possess strong project and logistics management capabilities with an eye for detail, along with creativity and flexibility in event planning and execution.
• Prior experiences in youth development, project/event management and community service-learning initiatives are advantageous
• Have good command of the English language and effective interpersonal skills
