This is an entry-level professional position within the Student Affairs Department at Duke-NUS Medical School. It offers an excellent opportunity to develop a broad range of competencies essential for a career in student affairs.
The role calls for a proactive mindset and a strong commitment to building proficiency in areas such as interpersonal communication, cultural sensitivity, student support and advising, operational planning and programme assessment, evaluation and research.

Job Description

 As a member of the Student Affairs team, the Executive will contribute to the following key areas:
• Student Support: Provide direct support to students, particularly concerning financial aid, residential matters, academic progress and psychosocial well-being. This involves understanding and addressing the diverse needs of students to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Resilience and Wellness Programmes: Contribute toward planning and implementation of these efforts, including logistics administration and safety management. This includes collaborating with the Student Affairs team on wellness initiatives and partnering with the Student Council and the student body on community service projects and Special Interest Group activities. 
• Personal and Professional Development: Provide administrative support for mentoring programmes, such as the school’s leadership programme, advisory college system and assist with career advising activities. This also includes coordinating individual development plans for students, facilitating students’ personal and professional growth beyond the classroom.
The above responsibilities are supported by two critical functions that the candidate will focus on:
• Financial Management: Administer financial claims and manage budgets accurately, efficiently and in compliance with established procedures.
• Data Management: Maintain and manage databases, ensuring data validity and integrity. Generate accurate and timely reports for the department and the medical school. This is essential for effective decision-making and programme evaluation within Student Affairs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in any discipline, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant experience may be considered.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a focus on Excel and PowerBI. Skills should include the ability to create pivot tables, apply formulas for data filtering and transform data into visualisation tools.
• Possess the ability to innovate and utilize AI tools such as Microsoft Co-Pilot and NUS-Know for data management.
• Attention to detail, strong organisational skills in financial management and budgetary control.
• Prior experiences in youth development, project/event management and community service-learning initiatives are advantageous
• Good command of the English language and effective interpersonal skills
