Scope of Position
This faculty position focuses primarily on curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and assessment development within the MD Programme. The role emphasizes educational systems work, including curriculum mapping, programme-level evaluation, assessment blueprinting, question development, and alignment with national competency frameworks.
The faculty member will play a key role in strengthening curriculum integration, assessment quality, and data-informed programme improvement. The role requires strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in educational technology and AI-enabled tools to enhance curriculum review, assessment analytics, and question bank management.
Teaching responsibilities will be secondary and may include facilitation of TBL, communication skills, or selected teaching sessions depending on background and programme needs.
The faculty member works closely with the Associate Dean of the MD Programme and collaborates with MD Programme Leads and course directors across the curriculum.
Job Description
- Curriculum Design and Programme Development (Primary)
Lead and support curriculum mapping across phases to ensure alignment with programme learning outcomes and the National Outcomes Framework.
Contribute to programme-level evaluation through iterative review and continuous improvement processes.
Develop faculty guides, evaluation rubrics, and structured teaching resources.
Support vertical and horizontal curriculum integration. - Assessment Development and Quality (Primary)
Contribute to the development and review of assessment items (MCQs, SAQs, OSCE components, workplace-based assessment tools).
Support blueprinting and mapping of assessments to curriculum objectives and competency frameworks.
Monitor assessment metrics and contribute to analysis of reliability, validity, and performance trends.
Maintain and improve question banks and assessment databases.
Leverage AI-enabled tools to support item analysis, blueprinting, and curriculum analytics. - Teaching and Facilitation (Secondary)
•Facilitate selected TBL sessions, communication skills teaching, or other educational sessions as required.
•If medically qualified, may contribute to clinical skills or reasoning sessions as programme needs dictate. - Educational Scholarship
Participate in medical education research and scholarly activities within the MD Programme Department and/or the Office of Education.
Contribute to presentations, abstracts, or publications related to teaching and learning in medical education.
Remain current with trends and innovations in medical education and apply evidence-informed practices to teaching. - Service to School and Community
Participate in committees and task forces within the Medical Education and MD Programme Offices as needed.
Participate in and provide support for faculty development activities and other educational initiatives within the institution.
Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and administrative units in the delivery of the MD Programme.
Support other curriculum-related tasks as assigned by the Associate Dean or MD Programme leadership.
Qualifications
- MBBS/MD or PhD in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum design, assessment development, and/or educational evaluation.
- Experience in curriculum mapping, assessment blueprinting, or programme evaluation.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in educational technology and AI-enabled tools.
- Experience working with assessment databases or question banks is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and decision-making acumen.
- Excellent command of English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and contribute to strategic educational goals.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, ensuring smooth collaboration and productivity.
