Job Description
The Centre for Ageing Research and Education (CARE) at Duke-NUS Medical School is seeking a Research Fellow to support the ongoing “Future Health Technologies” (FHT1) research programme. FHT1 is dedicated to developing innovative, scalable digital solutions aimed at screening and assessing cognitive decline, falls risk, and fracture risk among older adults in Singapore. The programme involves the design, implementation, and coordination of a community-based falls intervention, working closely with clinicians, allied health professionals, researchers, and community partners to reduce the adverse impact of injurious falls in a feasible manner. In the following phase, the successful candidate will play a key role in health policy analyses to demonstrate cost-effectiveness of interventions and understand the short-term and long-term impacts of implementing such falls prevention programmes at a national level.
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate data collection efforts for cost-effectiveness analyses, including obtaining and harmonising healthcare utilization data from existing studies with national medical records. He/She will also be directly involved in conducting in-depth interviews with clinical trial participants, caregivers, and trainers as part of the feasibility assessment for the community-based falls intervention. This process also includes verifying and coding verbatim transcripts from these interviews to maintain data integrity and support robust qualitative analysis. He/She will support the development of the FHT1 policy brief, contributing to knowledge translation and policy engagement. Other responsibilities include validating and cleaning clinical trial data to ensure accuracy and readiness for analysis, as well as performing systematic checks and data management for missing or inconsistent data. The candidate will also be expected to contribute to academic outputs such as papers and presentations, and participate actively in CARE’s seminars, workshops, and grant applications. The position will be offered for a 2-year period initially and may be extended based on performance
