The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”) in Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore, is a leading palliative care research and educational Centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation and strategic collaborations with local and regional partners, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.


To meet the goals of the Centre, LCPC is recruiting a Research Fellow whose focus is on health care quality with specific interests in quality measurement, instrument development and validation, implementation science, and applications to those with life-limiting illnesses. The successful candidate will work with a multidisciplinary faculty within Duke-NUS Medical School, the SingHealth Academic Medical Centre, and with local and regional collaborators. 

 

  • Develop and lead an independent research agenda focusing on quality measurement in palliative care via successful national and international grants.
  • Lead the development of patient-reported outcome and experience measures in patients with advanced illnesses.
  • Design and conduct implementation science research.
  • Develop patient decision aids.
  • Utilise qualitative and quantitative methodologies to support grant/protocol development, study design, and management of research activities.
  • Collaborate with LCPC faculty and establish partnerships across Singapore and regional communities for collaborative projects related to palliative care in global health.
  • Write and review research papers, present research outcomes and develop connections with local and international palliative care stakeholders.
  • Guide junior researchers and cross-disciplinary team members and provide mentorship to Duke-NUS students.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements

 

  • PhD in Health Services Research, Palliative Care, or other related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success in securing research grants and managing research projects independently and in teams.
  • Proven track record of both quantitative and qualitative research expertise in instrument development.
  • Experienced in survey methods, including survey development, design, and administration.
  • Proficient in statistical software techniques using STATA, R or similar software.
  • A self-starter with demonstrated ability to form collaborations and lead cross-disciplinary teams with minimal supervision.
  • Have good time-management skills.
  • Prior experience in patient and clinician engagement and project management, specifically in populations with palliative care needs.
  • Professional proficiency in English and valuable with knowledgeable in other Asian languages.
