Job Description

The Duke-NUS Cancer and Stem Cell Biology (CSCB) Programme studies the causes and treatments of cancer and related diseases. The CSCB research groups have diverse programmes in both basic cancer biology and clinical-translational studies, with a special emphasis on cancers that affect the Asian community in general


We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to investigate the role of sterol metabolism in cancer development and progression. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful biomedical research in a dynamic and collaborative environment

  • Independently carry out the design and execution of experimental research required by the research component of the project.
  • Design, develop, and optimise in-vitro models using cancer cells to study disease mechanisms and test therapeutics.
  • Perform in-vivo experiments using established rodent disease models to test therapeutics and study disease progression.
  • Analyse and interpret data from in-vitro and in-vivo studies, and present findings to the research team/collaborators.
  • Work closely with other researchers, clinicians, and scientists to integrate findings and develop new research strategies.
  • Contribute to the writing and publication of research papers in top-tier scientific journals.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records, including protocols, data, and experimental results.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described therein.

Job Requirements

  • PhD and/or post-graduate medical degree with at least 3 years’ relevant research experience and training.
  • Knowledge of the scientific background relevant to the research area and laboratory experimental skills, where applicable. 
  • Proven track record in the form of high impact publications. 
  • Demonstrated capability of research independence progressively. 
  • Strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills. 
  • A team player who is able to prioritise, multi-task and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce.
