Job Description

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”) in Duke-NUS Medical School aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader SingHealth institutes within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.

 

The LCPC Education’s mission is to deliver high quality palliative care education for health care professionals at the generalist level to meet the growing palliative care service needs locally and regionally. We are seeking for a full-time Senior Education Associate to join our team.

 

The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions related to the LCPC’s education mission under the supervision of the Head, Education in LCPC, but not limited to the following:-

  • Align strategic objectives of the Centre to achieve education excellence.
  • Enhance and operationalise the existing education strategy.
  • Improve existing programmes, based on best practices in education, local needs assessment and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Pursue accreditation of existing and new courses by external bodies.
  • Explore innovative ways to deliver education to make it effective and impactful for learners.
  • Work closely with clinician faculty to improve pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Perform curriculum review, including the development of new learning materials and other educational documents.
  • Develop and implement new training initiatives and initiate new collaborations/ partnerships locally and regionally/globally.
  • Lead and provide operational oversight of all educational activities and staff.
  • Prepare regular reports to relevant parties.
  • Write and secure education grants.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Executive Director of LCPC.

Qualifications

  • Possess a PhD or Master’s Degree/Medical Degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in educational approaches and teaching courses at a graduate level would be advantageous.
  • Prior clinical experience or previous work experience in palliative care would be advantageous.
  • Competent in establishing and executing education programmes.
  • Possess strong writing, strategic and critical thinking skills, as well as good communications and presentation skills.
  • Have strong EQ and interpersonal skills with experience in managing a team.
  • Have the ability to write grants and reports.
  • Organised, motivated and able to multi-task.
