Job Description

 

The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (“LCPC”), housed within Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore, is seeking an experienced educator to work with the Director of Education and a team to execute our education mission  of delivering  quality generalist palliative care training for healthcare professionals to meet the growing demands for palliative care locally and regionally.

 

The successful candidate will perform a variety of functions related to the Centre’s educational activities under the supervision of the Director of Education, which include but not limited to:-

 

  • Enhance and operationalise the existing education strategy. 
  • Initiate new collaborations/partnerships locally and regionally.
  • Explore innovative ways to deliver education to make it effective and impactful for learners.
  • Write grants to secure external funding.
  • Provide operational oversight of all educational activities/staff. 
  • Improve existing programmes based on best practices in education, local needs assessment and feedback from stakeholders.
  • Pursue accreditation of existing and new courses by external bodies.
  • Develop new educational resources using e-learning tools and our learning management system.
  • Work closely with clinician faculty to improve pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Develop learner assessments and programme evaluation of LCPC training activities.
  • Assist in preparing regular reports to relevant parties.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the LCPC Director of Education and/or LCPC Executive Director.

Job Requirement

 

  • PhD or Master’s Degree/Medical Degree with 4 to 6 years of work experience.
  • Bachelor Degree holders with at least 7 to 10 years of experience with good knowledge, skills and expertise in the relevant field may also be considered.
  • Prior experience in developing and implementing training programmes.
  • Have prior experience managing a team.
  • Able to write grants and reports.
  • Have strong EQ and interpersonal skills with the ability to multi-task.
  • Possess strong writing and critical thinking skills, as well as good communication and presentation skills.
  • Clinical experience or previous work experience in palliative care will be advantageous.
