Job Description

The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE) at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is responsible for protecting and commercialising inventions made by Duke-NUS researchers, managing collaborations and relationships with other organisations that may result in new products or services that impact patients and communities, and building an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC).

One of the key innovation education initiatives in OIE is the Duke-NUS Healthcare Innovation Programme (DHIP), a unique programme to nurture future clinician- and healthcare-innovators and create solutions to identified unmet clinical needs through close mentorship by clinicians and industry professionals. We will also be launching other professional short certification courses, targeted at industry. Another key portfolio includes engaging our internal and external stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem through networking events, educational seminars/webinars and panel sessions.  

OIE is actively seeking for a dedicated staff and talented programme administrator to support the programme management and delivery of DHIP and other innovation education programmes, and assist in ecosystem events.

 

Job Description

  • Responsible for administrative/logistical planning and execution of the programme, to ensure smooth delivery of DHIP or other innovation education short certification courses
  • Provide timely support to course participants and teaching faculty on matters relating to admissions, procurement and teaching/learning needs, throughout the programme/course.
  • Coordinate with various programme stakeholders (e.g. planning leads, fellows, teaching faculty) to schedule classes / meetings (both in-person and online).
  • Ensure availability of venue and teaching materials / resources on online learning platforms.
  • Assist in planning and the smooth executing of OIE ecosystem events (both in-person and online) e.g. networking session, panel sessions / seminars, webinars.   This includes coordinating registration, procurement, and other administrative/logistics needs.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering or marketing and communications with a focus on science. An advanced degree is not essential but could be advantageous.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in innovation programming and/or business development or marketing and communications for a healthcare company or academic institution.

Knowledge and Skill

  • Have a strong interest in working within the context of a healthcare, science and technology-rich environment.
  • Resourcefulness, proven communication skills and strong project management skills to work with stakeholders in ensuring smooth running of programme and/or events
  • Possess excellent spoken and written communication skills.
  • Proven disposition as an effective team player who can work well across different cultures.
  • Able to multi-task and work independently as well as in a team.
