Job Description
The Office of Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIE) at Duke-NUS Medical School (Duke-NUS) is responsible for protecting and commercialising inventions made by Duke-NUS researchers, managing collaborations and relationships with other organisations that may result in new products or services that impact patients and communities, and building an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC).
The Innovation Education and Ecosystem Development (IE2D) team within OIE, leads initiatives such as the Duke-NUS Healthcare Innovation Programme (D-HIP), a unique programme that nurtures future clinician and healthcare innovators and develops solutions to unmet clinical needs through close mentorship by clinicians and industry professionals. The team also engages internal and external stakeholders in the innovation ecosystem through networking events, educational seminars/webinars, and panel sessions, while planning and organising ecosystem events that foster a strong culture of innovation within Duke-NUS and across the broader innovation community.
OIE is actively hiring a contract staff and talented administrator to support the programme management and delivery of D-HIP, and assist in ecosystem events.
Job Description
- Assist D-HIP Programme Manager on programme administration
- Assist in ensuring D-HIP classes and events proceed smoothly (e.g. logistics, registrations, communications, and post-event follow-ups).
- Assist with coordinating with planning leads, teaching faculty, students, and alumni on routine queries and information sharing.
- Assist Ecosystem Manager in planning and the smooth executing of OIE ecosystem events (both in-person and online) e.g. networking session, panel sessions / seminars, webinars.
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas and minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Maintain mailing lists and contact databases; help document workflows and support minor process refinements; escalate issues and recommendations to the Programme / Ecosystem Manager.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work or as assigned
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Have good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively and work well in teams and with stakeholders of different levels.
- Have strong interest and experience in the following areas would be advantageous - Innovation Programming, Business Development or Marcomms in healthcare, life sciences company or academic setting.
- Prior experience working with clinicians, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists or industry strategic investors would be advantageous
- Required to work some evenings.
