Job Description

This position oversees the day-to-day business operations in the Centre of Regulatory Excellence (CoRE) as well as within the Duke-NUS setting. Responsibilities include all financial aspects and other operational matters for CoRE. This position is responsible for the tracking and reporting of all CoRE expenditures and income streams, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance and grant management.

  • Plan, prepare and analyse financial reports, including budgets and forecasts, manpower and fund reporting.
  • Prepare grant reporting and claims submission, and handle enquiries relating to grant claims.
  • Manually track all expenditures for the Centre and assign to different sources of funds, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and contracts.
  • Assist in handling audit related matters and financial year end closing.
  • Manage the day-to-day financial operations of the Centre, including payment and collection, expenses and assets.
  • Assist in procurement of goods and services, and ensure compliance with procurement guidelines.
  • Collect, organise, and store financial records using computers and filing systems.


  • Degree Holder or Professional Qualification
  • Managing financial aspects of a diverse budget portfolio
  • Managing day-to-day operational activities
  • Analysing, monitoring and reporting of financial information
  • Experience working in an academic setting is an advantage
  • Knowledge and Skills        SAP system (Hana) for reporting
  • IT savvy and excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Understanding of accounting concepts and tax implications eg. GST and withholding tax
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous and resourceful, with excellent organisation skills to deliver high quality work
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
