Job Description

The successful candidate will form part of a core team in Academic Programme Support and Evaluation to manage grants and initiatives for Academic Medicine (“AM”) initiatives across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre.

  • Work closely with key stakeholders including senior management, domain leaders of research, education and innovation, various Academic Clinical Programmes (“ACPs”), Joint Institutes (“JIs”), SingHealth Duke-NUS Disease Centres (“SDDCs”) and the AM community of faculty, nursing and allied health professionals, researchers, students, and administrators.
  • Plan, prepare and review approvals of AM proposals and grant calls.
  • Ensure strong financial stewardship and good corporate governance by being adept with Duke-NUS’ and NUS’ policies regarding programme criteria, donations, disbursements, and grant terms.
  • Ensure rigorous and timely proposal review, monitor progress and outcomes reporting, financial reporting, and proper stewardship of AM resources.
  • Devise strategies and develop processes, policies and structures to support the implementation of AM initiatives.
  • Provide effective management and administration of ACP Programme Support Grants and Philanthropy-Funded Grants, which includes AM Distinguished Professorships.
  • Support the Student Initiatives & Grants: SingHealth Medical Student Talent Development Awards and AM-ETHOS Duke-NUS Medical Student Fellowship.
  • Manage documentation and outcomes reporting on AM Grants.
  • Assist in the overall administrative management of a variety of business-related functions such as but not limited to the following (usually in short-term project basis): -
    • Assist in the planning and execution of departmental events and projects.
    • Prepare reports and analysis for reporting to senior management.
    • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein or as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent with at least 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Strong track record of stakeholder management or project management.
  • Prior experience in managing grants/funds, research projects and/or faculty matters would be advantageous.
  • Possess good organisational skills and the ability to carry our analytical and coordination work.
  • Have strong team orientation, able to relate and engage senior staff, and sensitive to cultural nuances.
  • Possess good command of written and spoken English.
  • Independent worker who possess initiative to complete tasks and projects assigned.
  • Proficient in general software applications that facilitate work operations such as Microsoft Office.
