Job Description


This position will support the Research Operations Department in undertaking a variety of tasks and activities that will ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of Duke-NUS’ animal facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of business functions including but not limited to the following: -


  • Responsible in managing the daily operations of Duke-NUS’ animal facility.
  • Work with the Facilities Department and its subcontractors to monitor and maintain the animal facility’s internal environment. 
  • Raise procurement requests and manage maintenance contracts for the animal facility.
  • Work with contractors to ensure timely maintenance of equipment. 
  • Source and work with vendors to ensure necessary consumables are adequately stocked.
  • Work with the Safety Department to ensure that all work carried out in the animal facility is in accordance to regulations, guidelines and policies. 
  • Arrange training schedules and meetings for new users in the animal facility. 
  • Maintain and update relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs) and records for the animal facility.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein or as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Possess 2 to 3 years of working experience related to animal facility. 
  • Meticulous, well-organised and have an eye for details and an attitude to resolve issues.
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and is able to work well in a team and across teams.
  • Proficient in software applications that will facilitate work operations, such as Microsoft Office.
