Job Description

 

Responsible for the execution of a variety of business functions of the department which include but are not limited to the following: -

 

  • Handle the pre-award and post-award administration of various research grants and maintain the grants database.
  • Provide secretariat support to the Appointments and Promotions Committee for Practice Track Faculty and Principal Research Scientist Appointments, and provide support to the Search Committees for faculty recruitment in Signature Research Programmes.
  • Track mentoring and tenure review processes for tenure-track faculty.
  • Track records of institution funded Clinician-Scientists for reporting to various stakeholders and records of fractional faculty for contract review.
  • Support in the development and testing of IT projects.
  • Prepare programme schedules and itineraries as well as coordinate flights, hotel accommodations and land transfer arrangements for the various Signature Research Programme review panellists, as well as overseas faculty candidates shortlisted for interviews.
  • Coordinate, schedule and provide logistics support for meetings, teleconferences, video conferences and scientific symposia.
  • Ensure up-to-date records and filing of relevant documents.
  • Perform other duties incidental to the work described therein or as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Degree in Biomedical Science or a Biology-related discipline. Candidates with degrees in other fields but who have worked in a biomedical science or healthcare industry will also be considered.
  • Entry-level candidates or Diploma holders with at least 5 years of relevant work experience are also welcome to apply.
  • Prior work experience in a research / academic environment would be advantageous.
  • A team player who is able to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Meticulous, well-organised and able to multi-task.
  • Responsible, proactive and independent.
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat (PDF).
