Job Description
The Laboratory for Translational and Molecular Imaging (LTMI) at Duke-NUS Medical School is looking for a Research Assistant to support in vitro and in vivo research efforts surrounding nuclear and optical imaging. The LTMI group advances state-of-the-art small animal imaging platforms and fosters the translation of molecular imaging probes and associated technologies. Multimodal in vivo imaging techniques are employed at LTMI, including computed tomography (CT), positron emission tomography (PET), single photon computed tomography (SPECT), and fluorescence imaging.
- Perform molecular biology experiments (e.g. PCR, Western blot) and live cell assays.
- Maintain cells, creating cell banks, and perform quality control.
- Handle radioactive and infectious (live virus) materials for in vitro and in vivo studies.
- Animal handling, including cancer cell implantation and injection of test materials.
- Perform ex vivo assessment including but not limited to histology (e.g. IHC, IF, H&E staining).
- Carry out laboratory experiments according to SOPs.
- Ensure accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and research findings.
- Assist in procurement and inventory of equipment, chemicals, reagents, and consumables.
- Assist in management of multiple projects.
- Maintain laboratory records (MSDS, chemical, biohazard) and assist in preparation of SOPs.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Biochemistry or a related scientific area with at least 2 years of relevant research experience and training.
- Experience in Cell culture, molecular biology, in vitro assays and tissue analysis required.
- Certified in animal handling, preferably with RCULA certificate.
- A team player who is able to prioritise, multi-task and work collaboratively in a diverse workforce.
