Job Summary

Duke-NUS Medical School’s Office of Education is hiring two research assistants to support a project called “Facilitating Student Engagement with Feedback”, which seeks to develop medical students’ acceptance and use of feedback through the R2C2 model (relationship, reaction, content, coaching). The project is supported by Ministry of Education’s Tertiary Research Fund grant.

Job Description

The selected candidates will perform a variety of research activities including but not limited to the following: -   
•    Conduct literature reviews, support the writing of reviews and other relevant reports. 
•    Draft and submit documents for ethics approval by Institutional Review Boards.
•    Recruit participants and collect research data (surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, documents for analysis) and perform data cleaning.
•    Transcribe interviews and focus group recordings using software (training will be provided on the use of software).
•    Analyse survey data with appropriate statistical tools and qualitative data using appropriate methodologies (training will be provided). 
•    Attend and contribute to regular project meetings and discussions. 
•    Liaise with co-investigators, collaborators, participants and other stakeholders.
•    Ensure accurate documentation and management of research data and records.
•    Organise, maintain and document information and proceedings related to project e.g. relevant readings, meeting notes, protocols, draft design plans, etc. 
•    Perform other related work or duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.


•    Degree or equivalent in Education, Psychology, Sociology or other related disciplines.
•    Possess strong analytical thinking skills and the ability to engage in close reading and interpretation of text.
•    Prior project management and research assistant experience is highly desirable.
•    Meticulous, well-organised, able to multi-task and manage complex logistical issues.
•    A strong team player who is able to work independently, meet deadlines and take initiatives.
•    Adaptable and effective problem-solver with excellent communications and writing skills.
•    Proficient with software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and video conferencing platforms such as Zoom.
