Job Description


The Lien Centre for Palliative Care (LCPC) in Duke-NUS Medical School aims to be the premier palliative care research and educational centre in the region. With generous support from the Lien Foundation, strategic collaborations with the National Cancer Centre Singapore and the broader SingHealth Institutes within the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre, LCPC is poised for significant growth in the coming years.

LCPC is seeking an experienced Research Associate/ Senior Research Associate with project management skills to support the following areas:


  • Assist Principal Investigators (PIs) with hiring, training and supervising a team of about 7 field data collectors (Research Assistants).
  • Provide regular progress reports to PIs.
  • Communicate with members of study-sites to ensure projects are running smoothly and to troubleshoot as needed.
  • Oversee and ensure all team members are knowledgeable regarding standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all research activities are conducted in accordance with ethical approval.
  • Assist PIs and research staff involved in data collection in the preparation and submission of reports to Institutional Review Boards (IRB), development of subject recruitment strategies, and identification of barriers to enrolment and implementation of appropriate interventions. 
  • Manage day-to-day operations related to study including IRB submissions and renewals, protocol initiation, participant recruitment, screening, consent, maintaining study logs, safety reporting, study close-out and record retention. 
  • Take lead of overall management of collected data from various research projects.
  • Support grant submissions and pre-and-post-award management by working with finance team and PIs in areas related to budget preparations, budget revisions, timelines, and reporting.
  • Assist PIs with research activities, including literature reviews, grant and proposal writing, and related activities.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Job Requirements


  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated good knowledge, skills and expertise in supporting various research activities.
  • Have knowledge of the scientific background relevant to the research area.
  • Possess strong communication and leadership skills.
  • A strong team player with the skills and ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
