Job Description

The SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) is an enabling platform for global health activities across the SingHealth Duke-NUS Academic Medical Centre (AMC). The institute aims to address current and emerging health challenges across ASEAN member states and in other Asian countries. Working in collaboration with partners, the institute seeks to tackle prevalent health challenges, strengthen health systems and better insulate countries from pandemics and disease threats.

SDGHI is organised around five thematic core areas – Policy, Research, Education, Clinical Skills and Innovation – across which programmes and platforms are designed to meet the specific needs of the Global Health community in the region.

The Asian Centre of Excellence for Healthcare Management and Leadership (ACOE) is one of the platforms of SDGHI that aims to coalesce the knowledge, experience and research from the SingHealth Duke-NUS AMC in healthcare management. It also aims to bring together healthcare leaders from exemplary healthcare systems to not only share good practices across the region, but to also share Asian-centric solutions developed by Asian healthcare practitioners to address healthcare challenges faced by the region.

We are currently recruiting a Curriculum Planner & Designer to support our work in curating the design of Certification programmes in the Education and Innovation cores, as well as within the ACOE. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring that these certification programmes are designed to not only be relevant to the intended participants, but that they also provide the necessary academic rigour reflective of Duke-NUS.

The work will include:

  • Conducting research and collaborating with faculty and subject matter experts to develop quality curriculum and learning resources
  • Providing strategic directions, map out the curriculum development and implementation plan
  • Interviewing faculty leads/ subject matter experts to conduct needs assessment and seek input on the development of curriculum modules, including developing learning objectives and outcomes, synopses and scope of content 
  • Advising faculty on pedagogical matters to ensure learning objectives and outcome are met, and stimulating lesson plans are developed 
  • Working with faculty to create instructional materials, including participant guides and teaching manuals
  • Reviewing faculty’s content and teaching materials developed to ensure consistency and minimal duplication of contents and with academic rigour
  • Working with faculty, case writers and assessors to design and develop learning activities, assignments and assessment tools that meet accreditation standards
  • Identifying and suggesting appropriate solution(s) for programme, including determining the blend of instructor-led, hands-on and online training that lead to stimulating learning experiences for participants
  • Preparing all required paperwork and manage the processes for programme accreditation
  • Evaluating the teaching materials, analyse teaching faculty and participants’ feedback to improve learning/ teaching and/ or develop additional materials 
  • Maintaining the catalogue of curriculum modules and update curriculum materials to ensure relevancy, matching learners’ needs
  • Planning and conduct briefings for teaching faculty and assessors on instructional design and use of learning and assessment tools
  • Supporting the development of programme information for development of communication materials and promotion of courses

Qualifications

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Education/Learning Design or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of working experience, of which at least 5 years’ experience in training curriculum planning and design for adult learners, especially for postgraduate and higher learning programmes
  • Experience in healthcare industry will be added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum planning and instructional design, including assessment methodology, as well as implementation and management of various modalities of learning 
  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
  • Extensive knowledge of learning tools and media
  • Excellent project management, organisational, resource and people management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Possess curiosity and keen interest in the future of learning trends, evolving learning tools and best practices in adult learners’ education
  • A motivated, self-starter and team player who is resourceful and independent
