Job Description
The Department of Communications and New Media at the National University of Singaporeapplications for tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor (Presidential Young Professor) rank, with expertise in Digital Humanities in the field of Media Studies or Communication, specialized in one or more of the following areas: computational text or multimodal analysis, data visualisation and digital storytelling, digital archiving and preservation, network analysis and social media analytics, and human-computer interaction in humanities contexts.

Qualifications
PhD in digital humanities, visual communication, media studies, communication studies, information studies, cultural studies, or a closely related discipline.

- A Cover Letter: A cover letter explaining your interest in the position at NUS and the ambition of your research programme, together with a write-up on your top two papers, or the actual publications available.
- Curriculum Vitae (CV): A comprehensive CV including a complete list of all post-secondary educational qualifications with dates; employment history since the final degree with dates; complete list of publications and other creative output (separately listing books/monographs, refereed journal articles, and book chapters (distinguishing referred from non-refereed), and research in progress; honours and awards (if applicable): to include major keynote and plenary addresses, invited talks, elected membership in professional and learned societies, membership on editorial board of leading journals; teaching record; university service (if applicable); public and professional service (if applicable).
- Academic Certificates and Transcripts: Scanned copies of all relevant academic certificates and transcript.
- Teaching Statement: A statement of teaching philosophy and methodology (maximum 3 pages). Where available, please provide evidence of teaching ability such as student feedback or peer review reports, as well as evidence of other contributions to education (e.g., curriculum development, pedagogical innovation, production of teaching materials).
- Research Statement: A statement (maximum 3 pages) of major accomplishments in research, citing up to five significant publications, creative work or other scholarly contribution, and explaining their significance. Sample copies of these contributions should be provided (in the case of books, reviews should be provided).
- A research plan (3-page) with a proposed start-up research budget and utilisation plan for the next 3-5 years.
- External Reference Letters (For Assistant Professors): Candidate should arrange for at least three referees, including the PhD advisor, to send letters of reference directly to the department / faculty. The references need to include both the PhD advisor and Postdoctoral supervisor as applicable. Referees should benchmark your research performance against peers at equivalent and top institutions or programmes and must send their letters directly to cnmcareer@nus.edu.sg.
