Job Description

The incumbent’s core function is to cultivate relationships with schools and associated stakeholders (principals, teachers, counsellors, subject leads, teachers and students) and to conceptualise unique initiatives resulting in meaningful engagement. The candidate will lead organising Faculty-level outreach campaigns and play an advisory role to its 17 departments. S/He is expected to be hands-on with the planning of and execution of multiple communications initiatives, often in partnership with both University-level and Department entities.

 

She/He will be responsible for student cultivation and engagement, schools’ engagement, outreach initiatives, logistical support, branding and marketing communications, content creation (writing/copyediting for multiple platforms), and budget management.

 

As a member of the strategic communications team based in the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) Dean’s Office, this role will work closely and collaborate with the core team on internal/external communications, branding and marketing communications, content creation, media relations, digital communications, and organising events. The incumbent will also actively and closely work with the FASS Outreach and Engagement Committee.

The role will support communications for the College of Humanities and Sciences - a collaboration of the NUS Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences with the Faculty of Science - to offer a new way of teaching, learning and thinking that emphasises the interface and interplay between disciplines.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Co-create communications outreach strategy with Senior Assoc Director (Strategic Communications) to engage key schools in Singapore and globally.
•    Synchronise and calibrate outreach strategies and engagement initiatives within the FASS Dean’s Office, Departments as well as with internal/external partners
•    Conceptualise, plan, overall project management of external engagement and implementation of fresh integrated communications, marketing and school stakeholder engagement initiatives
•    Develop and implement student cultivation campaigns across traditional and digital media
•    Prepare communications materials, presentations and publicity materials for outreach and to promote FASS study programmes.
•    Introduce feedback mechanisms to measure campaign success with robust analytics
•    Support/produce/manage social media assets with the digital team, including the production and curation of platform appropriate content, and stakeholder management to promote FASS majors
•    Source for story leads and curate content and social media assets for various platforms to achieve Faculty objectives.
•    Assist in creating, designing and facilitating a working environment and culture that promotes productivity and creativity, and in the process fosters team building.
•    Work with external vendors and agencies as necessary
•    Proficient at technology to boost efficiencies in cultivation and engagement processes
•    Undertake any other ad-hoc related duties and events as assigned by senior management

Qualifications

•    Degree in any discipline will be considered (preferably with specialisations in marketing, business development, digital media, marketing communications). Diploma holders with extensive years of experience will also be considered.
•    Between 2-8 years of work experience, preferably with at least 2 years of relevant in-house or agency experience in areas such as stakeholder cultivation, management, campaign conceptualisation/execution, project management, marketing communications. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
•    Possess strong strategic and analytical thinking skills with a strong understanding of corporate communications practices, campaign development, promotions, and marketing
•    Proven track record in producing creative content such as news stories, press release, videos, photos, infographics, etc. 
•    Video-editing, digital storytelling, image/presentation software skills are a bonus
•    Excellent communication and writing skills
•    Effective interpersonal and communications skills, with ability to relate well with people at all levels and good service orientation.
•    Possess a nuanced sense of what constitutes a strong key message and its essential elements.
•    Good project management skills, able to multi-task and work in a diverse and dynamic team environment.
•    A motivated team player who is accountable and takes ownership to punctually meet deliverables;
•    While also being organised and independent with their work
•    Pro-active, quality conscious, attentive to details and results-oriented
•    Creative with injecting fresh and new ideas for outreach, cultivation and stakeholder management
