About The Role
We invite applications for a full-time position (12 months) on a project entitled Money, People, and the Environment. The project defines finance as a system of relationships among people and between people and their environment mediated through money. It builds on Professor Wójcik's expertise in financial geography and his recent book Atlas of Finance: Mapping the Global Story of Money.
It will focus on the key issues and developments in contemporary finance: financial sanctions, corporate law, finance for sustainable development, financial technology, and the impacts of artificial intelligence on the financial system. The successful candidate will work directly Professor Wójcik and contribute to a series of scientific papers and a book. They will collect and analyse quantitative financial and geographical data as well as qualitative data, such as industry and policy reports.
Qualifications and Requirements
Required:
- A Bachelor's degree related to geography or economics or data science
- Experience and skills in data analysis and visualisation in R
- Ability to work independently and produce short written pieces of analysis
- Interest in finance
Desirable:
- Experience in financial data analysis
- Experience in spatial data analysis and mapping
