Job Description
The Language and Computation Lab (PI: Dr. Cynthia Siew) invites applications for a Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the National University of Singapore.
Duration: One year with possibility of renewal of one additional year
Start date: 1st Dec 2025, or as soon as possible
The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to collaborate on existing lab projects and develop new lines of research related to the Singaporean English mental lexicon. The candidate is expected to assist with the development and validation of large-scale psycholinguistic databases and word norms for Singapore English. A candidate with research interests in English dialects, multilingualism, psycholinguistic experimentation, computational modeling or cognitive network analysis, or sociolinguistics is strongly desired. Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. or expect to receive a Ph.D. in Psychology (or related fields like Cognitive Science or Linguistics) by the start of the appointment. Applicants must also demonstrate strong scientific writing skills, and have a track record of scholarly activities including publication of research findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
Experience using R or Python and with strong command of advanced statistical methods, computational modeling, and/or NLP methods, is an asset.
