Job Description

The Assistant Manager/Manager (Admissions Scholarships and Financial Aid Administration) supports the undergraduate admissions scholarship and Financial Aid functions of the Business School. While assisting with admissions activities, the role focuses strongly on scholarships and bursaries administration, scholar development and engagement, and providing operational and administrative support to the office. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented and proactive team player looking to make a direct impact on student recruitment, financial aid, and student success.


1. Scholarships and Bursaries Management

  • Administer the full cycle of undergraduate scholarships and bursaries, including promotion, application, selection, award processing, and renewal.
  • Maintain accurate scholarship and bursary records, ensuring timely disbursements and compliance with university and donor requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for scholars and bursary recipients, addressing queries and providing guidance.
  • Work closely with donors, faculty, and relevant offices to support the stewardship and reporting of scholarships/bursaries.


2. Scholar Engagement and Development

  • Plan and implement initiatives to support the academic, personal, and leadership development of scholars.
  • Organise engagement activities such as welcome briefings, networking opportunities, mentorship programmes, and enrichment workshops.
  • Monitor scholars’ academic performance and provide early support or referrals as needed.
  • Foster a strong scholar community that remains connected and contributes positively to the School.


3. Admissions Support

  • Assist in the coordination of undergraduate admissions processes, including application management, interviews, and applicant communication.
  • Support outreach activities such as Open House, school visits, and promotional events.
  • Provide information to prospective students, parents, and schools regarding admissions and financial aid options.


4. Office Administration

  • Support procurement and finance tracking for the office, ensuring timely processing of payments, reimbursements, and budget monitoring.
  • Assist with the coordination of office resources, vendors, and contracts.
  • Provide general administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations of the Undergraduate Studies Office.

 

5. Data and Reporting

  • Maintain information related to admissions, scholarships, and student engagement.
  • Generate regular reports on scholarship/bursary utilisation, scholar performance, and admissions trends.
  • Provide data insights to support decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in admissions, scholarships/financial aid, student affairs, or administration (higher education experience advantageous).
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage students and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience with student information systems or CRM platforms
    preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and work independently while contributing to a team
