This job provides you with the opportunity to gain experience in quantitative research. You will be able to hone your skills in handling large datasets, data analysis, and causal inference. It is a good opportunity to learn and build your technical skills as data analyst or researcher. If you are interested in a future career in data analytics or graduate studies in economics, this research assistantship will also give you the relevant training and exposure.

This is a full-time position from September 2024 on a one-year renewable contract.

Job Responsibilities

The Research Associate (RA) will assist Professor Ivan Png in applied microeconomic research.  Duties include compiling data from primary and secondary sources, analysis and programming, algebraic analysis, reviewing research, and writing. Current projects include the productivity of foreign workers and taxi drivers (https://bizfaculty.nus.edu.sg/productivity/).

Qualifications and Skills

• Master degree in economics, business, or related discipline or passed PhD Qualifying examination.
• Skilled in programming and statistics.
• Willing to work independently, diligently, and learn.
