NUS Cities is a multi-disciplinary, open, and inclusive collaborative platform comprising three core pillars: education, research, and advisory.
NUS Cities has developed and continues to enhance its undergraduate programme to address emerging urban challenges. The team also conducts Executive Cities Programmes for city leaders.
The Master of Cities Programme was launched with its first cohort commencing in Semester 2, AY2025/26 (January 2026). Applications for the second cohort, beginning in Semester 1, AY2026/27 (August 2026), are already open. The programme offers advanced study for young working professionals interested in the development and governance of cities, building on the undergraduate programme.
To deliver a well-coordinated and meaningful programme, NUS Cities seeks a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in cities, knowledge of urban issues, and excellent administrative and coordination skills. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of the Master of Cities Programme and support other education, research, and advisory initiatives.
 
Responsibilities: 
1. Programme Operations & Coordination
•    Ensure the seamless delivery of the Master of Cities Programme in accordance with academic standards and university policies.
•    Provide comprehensive student support covering academic matters, immersive learning, and career-related initiatives.
•    Analyse student data and feedback to support continuous programme improvement and inform management decisions.
•    Take the lead on designated functional areas within the postgraduate programme team, working closely with faculty and colleagues.

2. Academic Scheduling & Course Coordination
•    Oversee course outlines, timetable planning, and registration processes in collaboration with academic departments.
•    Communicate course-related information and updates clearly and in a timely manner, including the preparation of student guides and briefings.
•    Support faculty by providing teaching, assessment, and administrative information prior to each semester.

3. Student Records & Progress Monitoring
•    Monitor and track student academic progress, workload, and overall well-being, ensuring timely follow-up on enquiries and requests.
•    Coordinate mid-semester feedback exercises and consolidate findings for follow-up actions.

4. Faculty & Examination Administration
•    Liaise with academic departments on teaching resources and learning management and IT systems.
•    Manage examination and assessment processes, including marks submission, grading, and preparation of Board of Examiners’ documentation.

5. Events, Outreach & Business Development Support
•    Participate in outreach activities to promote the Master of Cities and related programmes.
•    Coordinate and organise online and offline outreach events (e.g. information sessions, roadshows, visits).
•    Liaise with corporate partners and agencies to support engagement activities and co-hosted events.
•    Track event outcomes and prepare post-event reports and insights.

6. Marketing, Content & Communications
•    Support direct marketing activities, including email campaigns and applicant follow-ups across the recruitment cycle.
•    Assist in managing programme-related social media and digital platforms, in coordination with relevant offices or vendors.
•    Act as a brand steward for programme communications, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and visual identity.
•    Contribute to content development for outreach materials, digital platforms, and student-facing communications.

7.    Undertake other duties as assigned by the Programme Director.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree from a reputable institution, with at least five (5) years of relevant experience in managing academic programmes within tertiary education.
•    Experience in marketing and promoting academic programmes, including outreach and engagement activities, is preferred.
•    Some exposure to business development, partnership engagement, or corporate relations will be an advantage.
•    Familiarity with digital marketing ecosystems and platforms, including Chinese digital platforms, is an advantage.
•    Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written) is an advantage, as the role may involve liaison with Chinese-speaking stakeholders.
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Confident and effective in working within cross-cultural and multidisciplinary environments.
•    Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines accurately.
•    Team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a high level of emotional and cultural intelligence.
