Job Description
The successful candidate is required to work alongside the Management of NUS Cities, particularly the Advisory Services pillar, to drive strategic partnerships, foster industry collaborations, and enhance advisory services to support academic excellence and innovation on urban systems challenges that require interdisciplinary solutions in the role of a non-commercial consultant, facilitating the University's mission of academic excellence, research advancement, and industry integration.
• Strategic Planning: Lead the development of strategies to enhance industry engagement, foster collaborations, and support advisory initiatives at NUS Cities, in partnership with various groups/entities at the University.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a liaison between academic departments, faculty, and industry partners linked to NUS Cities to strategize and facilitate industry collaborations that will contribute to the advancement of NUS Cities-Industry relationships, in line with the Centre’s Education, Research & Advisory strategies. This will include engaging external stakeholders in understanding requirements for services and facilitate discussion with NUS Cities Management on project viability as well as establishing relationships with industry partners, alumni, and government agencies to facilitate knowledge exchange and promote the University’s initiatives.
• Team Leadership and Advisory Services: Act as a Project Director in leading Advisory Services alongside Reporting Manager. Manage teams responsible for respective advisory and professional engagement services to external groups, inclusive of expert advice to university leadership on industry trends, potential partnerships, and opportunities for growth. Assist in leading selected special projects in Singapore/globally as assigned by Reporting Manager.
• Reporting and Evaluation: Establish KPIs, track performance, and prepare reports to assess the impact of services, industry engagement efforts, ensuring alignment with the University’s goals and objectives.
• Budget and Contract Oversight: Manage contractual documentation and budgets for advisory activities and industry engagement, and ensuring efficient resource allocation. Lead in discussion on contractual terms with external stakeholders and prepare service agreements accordingly.
• Thought Leadership: Contribute to thought leadership in the field by participating in relevant conferences and forums, and representing NUS Cities' interests.
Qualifications
• Advanced education with a Master's degree or higher in Civil Engineering/Business/Architecture/Built Environment/Urban Studies or similar fields.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a focus on business, education, or a related discipline.
• Excellent team player with strong time management and tracking skills to coordinate with various stakeholders and University departments.
• Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to enhance the University’s industry engagement and advisory services.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and represent the University effectively.
• Versatile and able to navigate around a startup-like environment in a University setting independently.
• Comfortable with looking into the University’s administrative processes required along with the execution of service agreements.
