Job Description

We seek excellent applicants for the educator track appointments as Lecturer and Senior Lecturer in the NUS Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. They should have a strong background in teaching chemical engineering subjects, particularly, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, process control and reactor design.

 

Educator track staff are expected to excel in teaching and educational leadership. Applicants with evidence of focus and passion that are oriented toward teaching excellence, student learning, and pedagogical research and innovation are welcome to apply.

 

Job Profile

1. You will independently teach core chemical engineering subjects and engage in all related pedagogical activities such as course material development, student consultation/mentoring, assessment, and grading.

 

2. As an educator track appointee, you should expect to have significant teaching-related responsibilities including curriculum design, creation of study material (including multimedia), accreditation, etc.

 

3. You will actively contribute to the teaching initiatives of the department, and highlight and lead innovative practices in education by participating in various working committees and interest groups.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering with at least two years of relevant experience; some teaching experience in higher education settings will be an advantage. Applicants without PhD but extensive industrial experience are also eligible.
  • Evidence of teaching record as shown by student feedback/evaluations (if available).
  • Authorship of textbooks and demonstrated innovative teaching methodologies will be considered as additional strengths.
