Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant (Educational research) to join our team in the Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at NUS, and collaborators from NTU. The successful candidate will contribute to a pioneering project aimed at enhancing and personalizing the learning experience in university education, particularly within biomedical engineering disciplines. This project leverages technology to design and develop immersive virtual lab simulations with an AI-driven learning analytics platform.

Key Responsibilities:

•    Assist in the design development and implementation of immersive virtual lab simulations.
•    Collaborate with various stakeholders (eg: collaborators, scientific experts) to create AI-driven learning analytics models and assess the effectiveness of the developed simulations.
•    Conduct research study activities which include but not limited to participant recruitment, data collection, data analysis and data management
•    Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with institutional policies, ethics requirements and local regulations.
•    Assist in performing literature searches and producing reviews of the literature to support the delivery of educational research projects
•    Supervise and work with FYP students who are involved in educational research projects
•    Contribute to the preparation of reports, research publications and presentations.
•    Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI/Co-PI

Qualifications

•    Possess a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Science, Education, or a related field.
•    Experience in educational research, data analysis, and technology integration.
•    Proficiency in using AI tools.
•    Experience in coding would be highly desirable.
•    Proficient in MS Office software or equivalent (eg: Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and strong data analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Possess strong interpersonal skills. 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
•    Open to fixed term contract.
