Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant to support experimental activities in materials research through process optimization, workflow development and prototype-related tasks. 

1. Process Optimization & Workflow Development

•    Help refine and optimize fabrication procedures, including standardizing steps and organizing parameters.
•    Develop structured experimental workflows, checklists, and documentation to improve reproducibility.
•    Assist in preparing and updating detailed procedural guides, diagrams, and SOPs.
•    Identify gaps in existing processes and propose improvements to efficiency and consistency.
•    Track sample preparation, experimental sequences, and process variations.

2. Prototype Development Support

•    Assist in assembling and preparing experimental materials, soft devices, fibers, or related prototypes.
•    Support scaling experiments, repeatability studies, and parameter tuning.
•    Conduct basic stability or performance monitoring tasks.
•    Organize and label prototypes or samples for testing.
•    Assist in troubleshooting simple issues in experimental setups.

3. Experimental Support Tasks

•    Perform basic measurements and data collection.
•    Prepare samples for testing workflows.
•    Carry out routine checks on equipment, tools, and work areas.
•    Help with maintaining well-structured records of experimental conditions and results.

Qualifications

Required

•    Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or other relevant Engineering fields. 
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Ability to structure workflows and manage process optimization.
•    Responsible, proactive, and willing to learn and coordinate experimental procedures.

Preferred

•    Experience in structured research environments or procedural documentation.
•    Familiarity with materials fabrication, soft devices, fibers, or prototyping.
•    Ability to write clear technical notes or step-by-step instructions.
•    Interest in process refinement and translational research.
