Job Description

A Programme Manager position is open at the Singapore Hybrid-Integrated Next-Generation μ-Electronics (SHINE) Centre of Professor Aaron Thean and within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).
 
The candidate will have a leading role in managing the related research projects, reviewing, and monitoring the execution, leading all aspects of the communication with the involved industrial parties.
The candidate will also have responsibilities in the following areas:
1.    Coordinate the setup of the Centre in close collaboration with its Directors and PIs.
2.    The Programme Manager is expected to play a leadership role in ensuring a tightly integrated programme where appropriate research activities are clearly collaborative; and to monitor, supervise, and manage the various principal investigators and receive reports on their research projects and specifically to review the progress of the various research activities for their deliverables along pre-determined timelines and make necessary changes, when appropriate, to the programme to achieve the stated goals.
3.    Monitor and report on usage of the grant, review, and report expenditure where appropriate.
4.    Expected to assist and interact with all partners on reports such as mid-term review reports, annual programme reports, final programme report etc.,
5.    Assist on scientific or technical review and shall provide an overall presentation at such reviews.
6.    Managing the timeline and deliverables through the programme operations.
7.    Interact with the technical teams and industry partners on visits regularly to engage with their home teams to ensure technology relevance.
8.    Maintain fixed asset inventory and enforce high standard of document control and record keeping.
 
Prior experience with project management roles, exposure to different work environments, and a background on Electrical or Computer Engineering are highly valued.

Qualifications

1.    Master’s degree with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience. 
2.    Knowledge and experience in managing projects and/or research programmes is highly valued, along with experience in different roles and functions. 
3.    Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skills are required along with good written and oral communication skills. 
4.    The candidate needs to have high tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work on multiple sub-projects simultaneously, ability to prepare/disclose/handle information of a confidential nature, as well as to work in a team and positive “can-do” attitude, as documented by prior work experience and reference letters.
5.    Open to Fixed Term Contract.
