Job Description
We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative Research Engineer with demonstrated skills in environmental engineering, microbiome, and bioinformatics. The position involves in developing novel biotechnologies for nutrients removal and pollutants detoxification in bioreactors, engineered systems, waterbodies and the environment, in particular cultivation and characterization of functional microbes, predictive understanding of microbiome dynamics and functioning in engineering systems such as bioreactors in lab and pilot scale.
The Research Engineer will be responsible for sample collection or management, culturing, microbiome analysis, data processing, integration, etc. The selected individual is also encouraged to collaborate with other laboratory members on diverse research projects.
Job Requirements
• Possess a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering.
• Has at least a few years of relevant working experience.
• Has research experience in one or more areas such as environmental microbiology and biotechnology, chemical analysis.
• Has multidisciplinary knowledge and research experience in engineering, chemical analysis, environmental biotechnology, bioinformatics, statistics, data mining, machine learning.
• Independent, motivated, resourceful, and able to work in a team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent quantitative, writing, and presentation skills.
• Experience in publishing peer-reviewed publications.
• Demonstrated ability to direct and run independent research project(s).
Experience collaborating with industrial teams.
• Open to fixed term contract.
