Job Description

 

This research aims to improve how to design coastal structures in Singapore by developing locally relevant guidelines for wave overtopping. The research focus on the landward (rear side) impacts caused by wave overtopping behind coastal protection measures (CPMs)—for example, erosion and instability that can compromise the CPM’s structural integrity and public safety.


The selected research staff will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary team on the engineering analysis and design of the coastal structures under overtopping loading actions, support coastal planners, engineers, and policymakers in making informed decisions for a safer and more economically sustainable coastal defences in Singapore. 

Job Requirements


•    Possess at least a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related discipline.
•    Masters degree is preferred.
•    Applicants should have fundamental knowledge structural engineering and structural analysis
•    Applicants should have laboratory experience in designing, conducting, and instrumenting structures.
•    Strong written and spoken communication skills. 
•    Open to fixed-term contract.
