Job Description

The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department of National University of Singapore (NUS) is in search of candidate for a research engineer position to assist in Prototype Development. 

Successful applicant will be responsible for conducting applied research, developing innovative technologies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to solve technical problems and advance the organization's goals. 

Candidate will design experiments, analyze data, and develop prototypes to validate new concepts and technologies. 

Candidate will also contribute to scientific publications, patents, and grant proposals to communicate research findings and secure funding for future projects.

 

Responsibilities will involve:

1.    Actively participate and lead optimization for additive manufacturing processes
2.    Work closely with Research Fellow to meet project deliverables.
3.    Perform cleanroom and wet processes in sample fabrication.
4.    Characterize fabricated samples through the use of microscope, scanning electron microscope, etc.
5.    Organize and track research activities, performed tasks, characterized in report form (Microsoft Word).
6.    Identify, feedback, and address engineering challenges.
7.    Assist in equipment purchase, commissioning, and ownership.

Qualifications


•    A bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Material Science or its equivalent from a reputable University/Institute is preferred, or equivalent related experience. 
•    Candidate with experience in microelectronic research, characterisation, metrology, and electrical testing, and strong in data analysis will have advantage.
•    Knowledge of thermal and thermomechanical modelling and analysis. 
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Motivated and possesses effective communication skills including writing and presenting.
•    Ability to work independently and collaborate within a diverse team.
•    Open to Fixed Term Contract.
