Research Engineer (Seawall research)

Job Description

This project will study and propose feasible solution to retrofit existing coastal protection structures. Special feature of this proposed solution is that it must be able to reduce seawater seepage, using innovative way of impervious material. The solution must also be modular in nature, such that it can be stack onto the existing seawall or the previously installed layer.

This Research Engineer will be responsible for the conduct of literature review, and planning, designing and carrying out of laboratory modelling on the proposed solutions – in both 1g scaled model and in geotechnical centrifuge model. The Research Engineer will perform the data collection and data analysis.

The Research Engineer should also be able to write technical reports and prepare technical presentation.
