Job Description

NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) is inviting applications for the position of research fellow for 3D bioprinting.  As a research fellow in AM.NUS, you will be working on projects on the following areas: 

●    Design and develop advanced bioinks for 3D bioprinting applications.
●    Design and 3D print biological scaffolds with 3D bioprinters for different tissue engineering applications with knowledge of 3D bioprinting technology, capabilities and limitations of various bioprinters, biomaterial properties, feasibilities, etc.
●    Undertake internal capability development projects and collaborative projects with researchers and industrial partners. 
●    Produce scientific research papers and grant proposals, and present in seminars, workshops, and conferences.
●    Explore collaborations with researchers and industrial partners.
●    Assist laboratory safety and procurement whenever necessary.

 

The NUS Centre for Additive Manufacturing (AM.NUS) leverages the National University of Singapore (NUS)’s world-class faculties, expertise and advanced capabilities in 3D printing technology, to bring innovative products to the field of healthcare that will improve patient outcomes and change lives for the better. AM.NUS will explore a whole new dimension in medicine, applying ground-breaking 3D printing technology for personalized patient treatments.

 

AM.NUS is the only multi-disciplinary Additive Manufacturing (AM) center in an Institute of Higher Learning in Singapore which comprises the following Faculties (Medicine, Science, Dentistry and Design & Engineering). The Centre is supported both internally by NUS and externally by National Additive Manufacturing Cluster (NAMIC).   
 

Qualifications

●    PhD Degree in Biomedical Engineering/Materials Science/Bioengineering or related field.
●    Expertise in 3D bioprinting.
●    Strong understanding of hydrogel biomaterials used in bioprinting. 
●    Extensive experience in cell culture techniques (cytotoxicity, immunohistochemistry, protein and gene expression, etc.). 
●    Experience with animal handling and data analysis is preferrable.
●    Familiarity with advanced imaging techniques and data analysis software is an advantage.
●    Proficiency in written and spoken English. 
●    Proven track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
