Research Fellow (Applied Mechanics)

Job Description

• Perform numerical and finite element analysis of fiber-reinforced composite specimens, tanks and pipes.
• Optimize lay-up, materials selection and design of thermoplastic composite tanks and pipes.
• Model and optimize automatic fiber placement (AFP) and filament winding (FW) processes for thermoplastic composites.
• Perform limited experimental characterization of mechanical properties of thermoplastic composites.
• Work closely with other work packages (WP) within the program.

Qualifications

• PhD from reputable university in applied mechanics.
• Expertise in fiber-reinforced composites.
• Proficient in advanced finite element and numerical analysis.
• Experience in research in mechanical engineering and fiber-reinforced composites preferred.
