Job Description


•    Develop dynamic models and simulation frameworks for a novel pier-free telescopic coastal barrier system. 
•    Design and implement coordinated control algorithms for synchronized operation of multiple floating and jack-up platforms. 
•    Develop MATLAB/Simulink models integrating hydrodynamic inputs from CFD and seakeeping analyses. 
•    Conduct simulation studies to evaluate control performance, synchronization accuracy, stability, and energy efficiency under varying environmental conditions. 
•    Plan and execute scaled experimental validation in wave flume and basin facilities. 
•    Analyse and evaluate propulsion and actuation technologies for marine deployment systems. 
•    Collaborate with researchers in hydrodynamics, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering to support multidisciplinary system development. 
•    Prepare technical reports, publications, and project deliverables.

Job Requirements


•    Possess a PhD in Control Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field. 
•    Strong background in dynamic systems modelling and control theory. 
•    Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and control-system development. 
•    Experience in multi-agent systems, autonomous systems, marine robotics, or coordinated control is advantageous. 
•    Familiarity with numerical simulation and integration of multidisciplinary engineering models. 
•    Experience in experimental validation, embedded control systems, or robotic platforms is desirable. 
•    Strong analytical, programming, and technical communication skills. 
•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
•    Strong written and spoken communications. 
•    Open to fixed-term contract.
