Date: 29 Apr 2024
Location: COLLEGE OF DESIGN & ENG, Kent Ridge Campus, SG
Company: National University of Singapore
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Research Fellow to join the Scent Digitalization and Computation project, a cutting-edge research initiative aimed at revolutionizing scent analysis and evaluation through innovative sensor technology and data analytics. This interdisciplinary project focuses on the development of a digital scent database with intelligent algorithms. Scent Digitalization and Computation has applications in various sectors, including consumer care, health care, food industry, and environment monitoring. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development of cutting-edge sensor technologies for applications in volatile organic compounds (VOC) sensing.
Responsibilities:
- Design and conduct experimental research on gas sensors, with a focus on volatile organic compounds (VOC) sensing.
- Optimize sensor materials, structures, and mechanisms to enhance sensitivity, selectivity, and stability.
- Characterize sensor materials and devices using techniques such as [SEM, XRD, FTIR, electrochemical testing, etc.]
- Lead the integration of multiple sensor types into a single device, ensuring that the sensors work in synergy to provide comprehensive scent profiling data.
- Implement and further develop differential sensing technologies to address sensor drift and improve feature extraction.
- Develop and implement multimodal sensor interfaces that capture environmental conditions and responses from different sensing mechanisms.
- Reduce system noise, enhance system robustness, and improve data accuracy.
- Collaborate with the research team to achieve seamless sensor operation and synchronized data collection.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers within the institution and with external partners.
- Contribute to the drafting of research proposals and securing funding for future projects.
- Publish research findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals.
Interested applicants may send their motivation letter and CV via email to eleez@nus.edu.sg
