Job Description

This job aims to address some critical issues about realizing structural optimization and inverse design methods for the large-scale optoelectronic devices. The main targets are threefold:

1. Understand in depth the inverse design of nano-photonics device, AI enhanced electromagnetic structure optimization, high performance electromagnetic structure optimization algorithm, etc.

2. Study photolithography and electron beam lithography to process coupling structures on large-scale meta-optical devices, integrating optoelectronic chips, etc., for use in fields such as optical communication and optical computation.

3. Find practical schemes and construct the setup to demonstrate the performance of photonic devices, such as the detection of orbital angular momentum of vortex light, as well as the evaluation of multiplexing and optical computing chips, etc. At last, one or two prototypical designs should be experimentally demonstrated.

Considering the above research targets, the candidate should possess in-depth physical insights and interdisciplinary knowledge of electromagnetics, electrodynamics, parallel computation, computational electromagnetics, and semiconductor technology, etc. Practical experience in the design, fabrication, measurement, and characterization of nanophotonic device.

Qualifications

1. PhD Degree in Physics, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant area with a strong background in inverse design.
2. Working experience in the field of photonic devices, topology optimization and high-performance electromagnetic computation.
3. Mathematics and specific knowledge required in electromagnetics, electrodynamics, computer graphics and computer-aided engineering.
4. Technical proficiency: 1) theoretical and numerical modelling of integrated optical circuit and coding high-performance computational programs such as finite element analysis and iso-geometric analysis; 2) preparation experience such as the construction of the integrated optical circuit measurement platform, the manufacture of on-chip nanophotonic device, etc. 3) structured light measurement involving the electric field and phase distributions.
5. Candidate should have strong publication records in reputed international journals in the field of inverse design, electromagnetic finite element calculation and integrated optical circuit.
6. Open to Fixed Term Contract
