Job Description
We are looking for a RF, to work with Prof. Yan Ning (Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, NUS) and Prof. Ang Wee Han (Department of Chemistry, NUS).
Project Overview:
This collaborative project aims to develop and study new ligand frameworks for organonitrogen transformations. The RF will work at the interface of synthetic chemistry and catalysis, contributing to the design, synthesis, and characterizations of metal-ligand complexes targeting selective formation of organonitrogen compounds.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Design and synthesize ligands and metal-ligand complexes.
• Characterize new compounds using standard spectroscopic and analytical techniques.
• Coordinate with Prof. Yan Ning’s team to conduct catalytic screening of ligand-metal systems in model organonitrogen reactions (e.g., amination, reductive coupling, hydroamination).
• Maintain clear records of experimental work and contribute to drafting scientific manuscripts and funding reports.
• Liaise with both laboratories and ensure smooth integration between two teams within the project.
Job Requirements
• PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Proven expertise in ligand synthesis, organometallic chemistry and characterizations.
• Strong publication record and proficiency in standard characterization techniques.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
