Job Description
We are inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow position to join our dynamic and interdisciplinary team focused on developing robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and haptic technologies for healthcare and human–machine interaction. The successful candidate will work at the interface of robotics, AI, machine learning, sensing, and biomedical engineering to develop intelligent systems that enhance human capabilities, rehabilitation, and healthcare delivery.
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the design and development of intelligent robotic and haptic systems, integrating advanced sensing, machine learning, and AI-driven analytics for applications including rehabilitation, assistive technologies, clinical training, and personalized healthcare.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct independent and collaborative research in robotics, AI, machine learning, and haptic technologies.
• Design and develop robotic and haptic systems for healthcare and human–machine interaction applications.
• Develop and implement machine-learning and AI algorithms for sensing, perception, pattern recognition, decision-making, and personalized feedback.
• Integrate multimodal sensors, actuators, robotics, and haptic interfaces into intelligent systems.
• Plan experiments, collect and analyze data, and evaluate system performance using appropriate analytical tools, machine-learning frameworks, and software.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams, including clinicians and engineers, to translate robotic, AI, and machine-learning technologies into real-world healthcare applications.
• Prepare research publications, technical reports, patent applications, and conference presentations.
• Stay current with emerging developments in robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, haptics, wearable technologies, and biomedical engineering.
Qualifications
• Possess a PhD in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated research experience in robotics, AI, machine learning, haptics, computer vision, sensing, or human–machine interaction.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB, with experience in relevant AI/ML and robotics frameworks.
• Hands-on experience in developing, integrating, and testing robotic, sensing, or haptic systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in machine learning, data analysis, signal processing, or multimodal sensor data.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Open to a fixed-term contract.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, or AI-driven data analytics.
• Experience with robotic systems, human–robot interaction, haptic interfaces, wearable technologies, or rehabilitation technologies.
• Familiarity with sensors, actuators, embedded systems, motion tracking, or real-time control.
• Knowledge of system integration, prototyping, and hardware–software co-design is a plus.
• Experience translating robotics, AI, or haptic technologies into healthcare or real-world applications is advantageous.
