Job Description: 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and delivery of high-quality content across platforms (web, social media, video, print, and digital campaigns), aligned with the School’s strategic communication priorities
  • Collaborate with faculty, students, freelancers, and internal stakeholders to produce timely, accurate, and engaging stories about the School of Computing’s research, impact, and community
  • Create and maintain an editorial calendar aligned with strategic communication priorities and events
  • Ensure consistency in voice, tone, branding, and messaging across all communications outputs
  • Utilize Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, DALL·E, Claude, Sora) to ideate, draft, and refine content rapidly and at scale
  • Translate complex academic and technical content into accessible, compelling narratives for general and specialist audiences
  • Manage freelance writers, editors, photographers, and other vendors to support content development across multiple formats
  • Support media relations efforts by identifying newsworthy stories, preparing media materials, and coordinating interviews when required
  • Track content performance and engagement analytics, using insights to optimise storytelling strategies and platform effectiveness
  • Ensure all communications are aligned with NUS branding and communications guidelines
  • Support other Communications team initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • A recognised degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Computing, Engineering, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in content creation, editorial strategy, or digital media, including a minimum of 2–3 years in a senior or lead role
  • Strong command of English, with strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across formats
  • Proven ability to distil complex research or technical material into clear and engaging content
  • Experience managing contributors and vendors, with strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to lead content strategy, manage multiple priorities, and deliver under tight deadlines
  • A creative mindset with a strong visual and narrative sense, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with data and analytics tools to evaluate content performance
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms, social media tools, and content scheduling platforms
  • Experience using generative AI tools to enhance content development is an advantage.
