Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing (SoC). SoC is strongly committed to research excellence in all its dimensions: Searching for fundamental results and insights, developing novel computational solutions to a wide range of applications, building largescale experimental systems, developing theories and policies for effective management of information systems in organizations, and improving the well-being of society. We seek to play an active role both internationally and locally in the core and emerging areas of Computer Science and Information Systems.

 

The Research Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator and the project team to support research at the intersection of robotics and artificial intelligence, with focus areas including robot perception and manipulation, dexterous manipulation, vision-language-action models, robotic assembly, and robot learning. The RA will contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of algorithms and systems, and will support research experiments, software infrastructure, benchmarking, documentation, and project coordination. Subject to contribution and performance, the RA may be considered for co-authorship in academic outputs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++
  • Solid background in machine learning, robotics, computer vision, or related areas
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Prior research experience in robot learning, manipulation, embodied AI, vision-language models, or related topics will be advantageous
