Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for the position of Research Assistant in the Department of Computer Science, School of Computing (SoC). We seek to play an active role both internationally and locally in the core and emerging areas of Computer Science and Information Systems.

We are looking for one full-time Research Assistant to support the research agenda on mobile app economy and patent-citation networks. The research projects are at the intersection of economics and computer science. Specifically, the projects on mobile apps use deep learning-based natural language processing models to extract information and use that information in an econometrics model to obtain strategic and actionable insights for product developers. The projects on patent citation networks use network analysis and econometrics. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in cutting-edge research in applied computer science or economics. The research assistant will work directly with the Principal Investigator and learn about how to handle large volumes of data and code systematically, econometric methods, and how research papers are developed and written.

Qualifications

• Student Researcher should possess experience in Data Engineering and text analytics using Python or R.
• Good English written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent coding skills preferred
• Good grades in econometrics and programming courses preferred
