Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to conduct cutting-edge research on humanoid robotics. The successful candidate will work on topics at the intersection of robotics, computer graphics, and embodied AI, including physics-based simulation, character animation, motion synthesis, and learning-based control for humanoid systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct independent and collaborative research on humanoid robotics, including simulation, motion generation, and control
- Develop and implement algorithms leveraging computer graphics techniques (e.g., physics simulation, character animation, 3D modeling) for humanoid applications
- Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals (e.g., SIGGRAPH, CoRL, ICRA, RSS)
- Assist in supervising graduate and undergraduate students
- Contribute to grant proposals and project reports
The successful candidate will be responsible for working closely with Assistant Professor Dr. Duan Jiafei (https://duanjiafei.com/)
Qualifications
- PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, or a closely related field
- Strong background in computer graphics (e.g., physics-based simulation, character animation, motion capture, or rendering)
- Solid programming skills (Python/C++) and experience with relevant frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, Isaac Gym/Lab, MuJoCo)
- Strong publication record in relevant venues
- Experience with humanoid robots or legged locomotion is preferred
- Familiarity with reinforcement learning or imitation learning for motion control is preferred
