Job Description

  • Assist students to settle into the hostel through orientation programme and ongoing residential programmes.
  • Provide student advisory to residential programmes.
  • Plan and facilitate recruitment, selection, placement, training programmes and performance appraisal of student leaders in the hostel
  • Communal standards enforcement in the hostel, outreach to students on compliance and maintaining student disciplinary records in NUS databases.
  • Support the Master in students' pastoral care.
  • Manage finance matters (e.g. procurement, reimbursement) and asset management. Perform various tasks using NUS systems e.g. SAP, CONCUR
  • Manage admissions to the House including reviewing of portfolios.
  • Oversee communications and publicity collaterals (e.g. EDMs and posters) for the hostel.
  • Coordinate IT and social media projects including maintaining hostel website and social media pages.
  • Provide secretarial and admin support; draft meeting minutes, emails, letters and reports; prepare presentation slides, manage the Master's schedule and arrange meeting.
  • Provide support to hostel's events e.g. Dinning with Master, House Reception, Appreciation Dinners for Student Leaders, VIP visits.
  • Provide administrative support for Southeast Asian Friendship Initiative (SFI).
  • Coordinate the schedule for "Respect & Consent" workshops to be facilitated for hostel residents
  • Attend to queries in the hostel mailbox
  • Provide timely and effective administrative, logistical and welfare support to the Resident Staff and residents.
  • Manage projects in collaboration with other University offices and residential student groups to enrich the residential experiences of NUS students.
  • Handle ad-hoc projects as and when assigned.

Qualifications

  • A University degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Candidates with experience in student admin and discipline would have an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications and IT savvy (e.g. social media platforms)
  • Vibrant, forward looking and enjoys working with students
  • A strong understanding of student life in a residential environment
  • Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

  • Organized and able to work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
